Towards the end of June 2022 I fell off a ladder and broke my humeral shaft. A visit to Addenbrookes resulted in me joining the HUSH study [thank you Nurse Debbie for this] which allocated me for surgery rather than a brace as the means for fixing the break. After Addenbrookes cancelled three operation dates I had my first telephone call from Mr Kang who assured me that I would be added to his next operating list – which duly happened. The first time I met Mr Kang was right before the operation. He was very honest about what was going to happen and reassured me that for him this was a pretty routine procedure. The operation went as expected and even before I had come round, I was grateful that Mr Kang had phoned my wife to update her on how everything went. I didn’t see Mr Kang again until my first follow up and since then I have seen him once more for discharge. Each time I found Mr Kang to be very efficient, able to answer any questions I had, and I was treated extremely well. The arm has healed well with no pain whatsoever and the scar is a work of art…! I am a very happy customer and would recommend Mr Kang without hesitation if you need his area of expertise.

Niel gave balanced advice on options regarding my Distal Bicep rupture. I ended up progressing with surgery. Niel gave great care and attention to me through the whole process. I felt very cared for. The surgery went very well and I am now moving onto physio.

I required full left shoulder replacement, Niel Kang was the surgeon who performed the surgery. He made sure that I understood everything that the surgery would involve and recovery after surgery. Niel Kang phoned the evening before the surgery to make sure I was well enough for the surgery and was still ready to have the full left Shoulder replacement, no other surgeon has ever done this , I thought it was very thoughtful of him and caring. He even took into account that It was my Birthday on the date suggested for the surgery. My 8 week check up was as caring and thoughtful, Niel Kang was very happy to see me and pleased with the recovery I had made, I would say that was due to the great care that had been given and shown to me. If I should need to have my right shoulder replaced I would certainly request him to do the surgery. I certainly recommend him Niel Kang.

It was a pleasure to meet Niel Kang (twice) He is easy to talk to and listens with interest Apart from that I have had excellent results from both my shoulder replacement operations, one with NHS and the other privately. In both cases I received excellent care and after care physiotherapy. He also showed sensitivity by contacting my husband immediately after I had come round to reassure him that it had all gone well. I think he is great! I have been treated at Addenbrookes and the Spire Cambridge.
